Bloggers And Their Series

For me, one of the hardest parts of writing my blog has always been figuring out what to write about. Agents have listings and market updates, and lenders can write about mortgage rates. You can write just so many posts about how to stage a home.  Posts about local events and places are always good topics.

Another good source of content—both to read and to write—is a series.

Many groups center around various themes, such as Throwback Thursdays, Thankful Thursdays, Wordless Wednesday, and Motivational Monday, among others. These generate countless weekly posts.

Here are a few examples of blogging series:

Lew Corcoran- Freedom Inked: The Day America Took to Pen

What perfect timing. With each post, Lew shares information about the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Carol Williams- Every Saturday, Carol shares her Second Chance Saturday posts. However, she has shared these series…

The Presidents

Fun Fact Friday

Other weekly posts centered on a topic: (If I omitted someone, I apologize.)

Ed Silva- Friday Flags

Dorie Dillard-

Funny Fridays

Throwback Thursdays

Liz and Bill Spear-

Ask An Ambassador

Brian England-
Tango, Trey, and Tom boy

Lawrence & Sheila Agranoff

Long Island Wednesday Words of Wisdom

If you share your blog in a newsletter, a series helps attract readers.

Tip: Be Consistent!

Good morning, Kathy... it's such a slog for me to get out one or more posts regularly (as I also post on my website and it doesn't always overlap with what I post here), I know I could never keep a series going. Hats off to those who can.

Kathy Streib hi Kathy... that's because 90% of what I blog about is business related. If I wasn't working, no one would ever hear from me.

Nina Hollander, Broker - I don't know how you do it.  Finding what to blog about has always been hard for me.

Hi Kathy,
Thanks for the mention. Having a daily or weekly theme makes writing so much easier. There was a time when I had a daily theme, but that got to be a bit too much, so I've scaled back some.

Carol Williams I hear 'ya. I've thought about doing that but I'm afraid that if I do, I'll keep scaling back.

Good morning Kathy. When I posted trivia it was supposed to be temporary and turned into a daily post that people wanted. After years of doing it it is still fun and to date I ave not run out of questions that's why it is trivia. Enjoy your day.

Ah the key word is consistency. I decided to do a video series - On the Road Again. Just captured another one yesterday, though it probably won't go up until Friday.

That's exactly why I started the series so that I would never have to worry about what to blog about, haha.  I like knowing what to expect when I visit other people's blogs because of the series that they have.  There are so many that stand out in my mind.
