We Have Colors in the Yard in Prospect CT
The seasonal transition to Spring is taking far longer than normal. Saturday morning, we had another frost and today we are in the 70's.
The colors are trying to show themselves, however. Our daffodils have come and gone.
We do have larger, brighter flowers to appreciate.
Right at the entrance of the driveway, backing up a flowering rock garden, we have a pink rhododendron.

Behind that are a row of white rhododendrons, although so far only one has started to blossom.

They got a haircut last fall and with the extremely harsh winter, they are still in a shock.
Against the house I have a bunch of azaleas, but a spring is still cool, they are a bit slow to bloom.
They will come around as well as the rest of their cousins and we will have the colors for a few weeks. The lilac s had a short season, but they are also not very long in bloom.
The forsythias will start to get their colors soon and they are good for a couple of weeks, and by then the day lilies will start.
We are blessed with the colors we have in the yard, and my wife is always asking me to cut some of them for the kitchen.
