Mom said, "Everyone has one!"
At first, my young mind thought the saying meant an opinion, then caught on that it was also part of the human anatomy! Mom had a very wicked sense of humor and oftentimes, it bordered on crass and downright unlady-like for a Georgia peach, but she was unaplogetically original.
She was also a petite, stunning beauty that grabbed our father's heart. Six kids in 8 years, plus a move from Minnesota to California ended the love affair and everyone moved to Georgia except our father. He remained in Whittier with the bimbo that helped cause the breakup, she was pregnant.
Life was difficult for a divorced woman in the 60's. People often blamed the wife back then, because, "She couldn't keep her husband happy", despite men haphazardly sharing their DNA with hussies, spreading their legs like melted butter on bread to anyone who financially furthered their cause.
Yeah, neither of them gave any further thought to the woman with 6 children in tow, who tried extremely hard to make ends meet, often failing miserably. Wish I knew my mom prior to the devastation waylaid by our father but at least she stayed with us, honoring her commitment.
A Sincere Message to You Mom
Despite the day-to-day challenges of motherhood, thank you for the love, the confidence carried for me, for also keeping me grounded, reminding me the world doesn’t revolve around me, though I still mattered. You taught the value of honesty, even when it meant standing alone.
The importance you placed on doing chores properly until I understood the difference between mediocre work and a job done well. Most of all, thank you for being my mom. You gave me what I needed, not everything wanted, so I could learn appreciation through hard work.

Am who I am today, because of your efforts and teachings and can be me, proudly because of you. Leaving this earth in 2010, your passing has left a gaping hole never to be filled until we meet again and though you may not be here to see, to hear, to hold, you are constantly with me.
How I'd love a hug. I love you mom. oxo
