Home Staging Tips…How to Ensure Your Home is Show Ready When You’re Out Of Town
With Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and summer right around the corner, there’s no reason to put your plans on hold just because your home is on the market.
Whether you’ll be gone for a long weekend or two weeks, with careful preparation, you can make sure your home shows well.

*Make sure you’ve done a deep clean
Make the windows shine, check the baseboards and windowsills. If you’ve already edited your treasures…look around and edit again.
*Routine Maintenance
Depending on the length of your trip, ensure that your lawn maintenance crew continues to visit regularly.
*Enlist a friend or relative to check on the home
Ask them to pick up delivered packages, newspapers, and mail. Have them walk around to make sure your home is in order.

*Inside Tips
Now is not the time to conserve energy. Set the thermostat at a comfortable temperature so your buyers feel welcomed.
Ensure indoor plants are well-cared for and not looking as if they’ve seen their last days. If you’re gone for more than a few days, ask someone to check inside for pesky insects that may be hanging around corners.
Smart plugs allow you to manage your lights while you’re away. If your home is being shown, don’t make your buyers and their agent search for light switches.
Make sure ALL of your devices, prescriptions, jewelry, and financial information is locked away.

Finally, stay in touch with your agent and make them aware of your plans.
