I'm writing this Mother's Day blog ahead of schedule. My mother passed away on Mother's Day, 8 May 1994. She was 66 years old. On various occasions, I have referred to this poem titled "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle" by William Ross Wallace, as it exemplifies the important role a mother plays in the nurturing of a child and the force a mother has in shaping the world. Yet, in our day and age, it seems motherhood is being frowned upon for any number of reasons.
Today, on Mother's Day, I raise a glass and salute the unsung heroes, MOTHERS! Without you, we are lost.
