๐Ÿ‹Saturday Soundness ~ LEMONS, YES LEMONS!๐Ÿ‹

I have always loved the taste of fresh lemon. In my water, my tea, and even squeezed onto fresh salads and veggies. But the medicinal values that lemons provide are exceptional. Check out these added bonuses to your health that can be derived from the lovely lemon:

๐Ÿ‹ DIGESTION - Fresh lemon juice is an excellent benefit for your digestive system. A great way to start your day is with a cup of warm water with freshly squeezed lemon. I add a shot of Olive Oil. This routine helps to jump-start your system before you add any food.

๐Ÿ‹ IMMUNE SYSTEM: The benefits of fresh lemon to boost your immune system are an excellent reason to incorporate this important fruit into your diet. The Vitamin C and antioxidant boost your system receives is essential to help your body fight off those bugaboos!ย

๐Ÿ‹ CANCER: The key ingredient "limonene" in the lemons is very effective in reducing and eradicating cancer cells. While no one can claim it cures this disease, many compelling studies cause me to want to continue to incorporate this food into my diet.

๐Ÿ‹ INFLAMMATION: The acidic quality of lemons is excellent in reducing inflammation in your body. The lemon actually helps reduce uric acid and, surprisingly, helps the body to maintain a more alkaline state. When your body has a pH level that is alkaline, you will experience fewer inflammatory issues. Lemons can also help with kidney stone issues.

Go out and grab some fresh lemons and incorporate them into your diet. I know that I feel much better since I've started consuming more of this delicious fruit. And, they look lovely on the counter!

๐Ÿ‹ Paula's Morning Shot ๐Ÿ‹

๐Ÿ‹ Warm or room temperature water.

๐Ÿ‹ One half-squeezed lemon, and then I just put the discard into the drink.

๐Ÿ‹ One tablespoon GOOD, OLIVE OIL! Do not buy the cheap stuff, as many are not pure olive oil.

๐Ÿ‹ Mix together and slam it back! I do this before I eat any food.

๐Ÿ‹ Give it a try! And remember, FULLY LIV2DAY! ๐Ÿ‹

Hi Paula... I've long known about the benefits of lemons. As for your morning cocktail... not quite for me as I'm allergic to olives. Even the smell of olive oil will give me a migraine type headache.

Yikes, Nina. You can make it without the oil and just enjoy the water & lemon.

Paula, I will try this recipe. Olives and lemons sounds like a good combination. We have so many lemons growing happily in AZ.ย

Good afternoon Paula,

I have freshly squeezed lemon in warm water every morning before I eat anything. I've never added olive oil but will give it a try.

Dr. Paula McDonald I also really like the taste of lemons, and now that I know they are healthy for me, it gives me even more of a reason to eat them more often.

While the benefits seem to be many, my exposure to lemons is only with chilled ice called lemonade, and even that is not often.

Lemons are definitely beneficial for our health!ย  I like your morning shot, and my morning shot also includes lemon, haha.ย  I have been having a spoonful of the following mixture in the mornings to improve my eyesight: carrots, lemon, and honey, which has been fermented a bit.

Lemons really are one of those simple things that seem to do a little bit of everything. I love them in water and tea as well, especially during the warmer months. Your morning routine sounds like a refreshing way to start the day and a good reminder that small daily habits can make a difference over time. The bright color, fresh scent, and versatility of lemons certainly make them feel like sunshine sitting on the kitchen counter. Enjoyed reading this healthy and uplifting Saturday reminder.

Hi Paula, we always have lemons around and have been squeezing them into our water.ย  ย Haven't done the glass of warm lemon water in the morning but I remember 30+ years ago, a facialist told me to drink it every morning.ย

Sounds interesting. I may consider it. However since I can't remember to take my vitamins on a daily basis, this may take a while. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Good morning Paula. I start my day with 8 ounces of room temperature water but after reading your post may have to add the "Paula additives". Thanks! Enjoy your day.
