Rain, Rain, GET BACK HERE!!!

North Dakota, nearly the entire State, is in a Red Flag Alert.

For several days now we have had high winds and very little rain. This makes for a Red Flag Alert. It's not good for Farmers, home owners who care about their lawns, and certainly not good for fire fighters.

Personally it effects me in the following ways:

1) I love to use my burn pit and that is a big no, no as I'd hate to be the one to burn down our neighborhood.

2) I reseeded much of our yard and that grass seed needs moisture... of which there is pretty much none.

3) Dirt is in the air, and in the car and home, and in your eye. It's blowing everywhere.

People can still use their grills at this time but caution is advised. I can't say that I have any sage advice, just be careful out there.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .For Timmothy's website type timmtimmothy.com into your browser. I tried to put it in a link here but it refuses to work. Do NOT put anything in front of timmtimmothy.com or it will not work.

If I could send it to you I would as we have been having rain too often. I have also learned that it does rain on a golf course.

Good morning Bob. I hope all of Minot's residents follow your lead and suspend activities that could cause a situation that gets out of control. May you get a good rain soon and get back to enjoying your burn pit.

I feel your pain, Bob. We are in drought conditions in the Charlotte region, as well, and several of our counties have put in mandatory water restrictions.

I forgot all about watering restrictions Nina Hollander, Broker , I'm sure they will come up soon here as well.

Bob, living under a Red Flag warning in North Dakota is no joke. Your post is a good reminder that dry conditions affect everything—from farmers and firefighters to backyard burn pits and freshly seeded lawns. Hoping the rain finds its way back soon, the winds settle down, and your grass seed gets the drink it’s been waiting for. Stay safe out there, my friend.

Hmm, I like being outside after it rains as well, but certainly not for the reasons that he enjoys it, haha.

The wind was so bad yesterday one needed a dust mask to go out. Today isn't much better but last I looked the sky was still blue and not brown Brian England . I hope it remains blue.

Hi Bob,
Spring is our windiest season, and we are in drought conditions as well. We've already had a few brush fires, which is a bad sign for the rest of Spring and Summer.

Amen Carol Williams . We had had a couple of disastrous fires this week, including a large apartment building in Bismarck ND, leaving many homeless.

That is such a scary situation. I am here in Dillon, CO visiting my grands and it is dry as a bone here as well. Lot’s of fire alerts. Praying for rain for all.

Dr. Paula McDonald last week it started to look okay with a third of an inch of rain but then again nothin. Now we are in our 2nd day of 90 degree days so it's back to "scary" again.
