My phone service I purchased for my US phone I THOUGHT had unlimited text and calling. Found out quickly, I have 200 minutes of talking per month and 250 texts per month. I must have already hit those numbers, as I got a message! OOPS. Good thing I got the Portuguese phone for backup. I did download WhatsApp, as I didn't have any contacts on that phone, so added people I want to talk & text.
It does seem like every day I find something new here. First, when I checked into my apartment, the key to the door is VERY different. The last time I rented an apartment, I was 18 years old outside DC. SO, this is different. The key gets me into the building.

There is no oven in this apartment, there is an air fryer, microwave and an electric cooktop. The cooktop is very different. I wanted to cook some eggs, and had to play around for a while to get the stove turned on.

Going back to the bank today, as I am hoping to see a long-term rental today, and got to thinking - how do I pay for it? HUMMMM, well, need a checking account probably, and also want to get Bill Pay set up for any bills like utility, etc. Also, when you move to a foreign country, you have no credit, so hopefully the bank has a credit card I can apply for.
Really is starting to feel like retirement now, I don't have obligations to a seller or buyer, nor keeping track of a transaction. Since arrival, I have felt tired, maybe it was all I went through to get here, but naps seem to be important. LOL I have been getting lots of exercise - from 7000 to 12,000 steps just walking around here. Lots to see, and haven't used the car.
