I have only been here for less than a week, and I thought it would take weeks to find the right place.
There are many real estate agencies on the main street and on the boardwalk, and I stopped in at all that I found. Only one said they had an active listing that would come close to my specifics.
My specifics really were 2 beds/2 baths and hopefully a garage, but this apartment has only 1 bathroom. I have a dedicated parking space on the ground floor, or can park in the lot. Maybe it won't be too bad sharing with my guests! AND, is about 1000 euros less than I thought I would have to pay! (more $$ to travel...)

The owner is American, born in New York, and said he is happy to rent to an American and had NO PROBLEM with me having cats. He has an apartment in the building, and said when he gets back to Portugal (he currently is in Rome), we will have some Italian coffee together.
It is about 4 blocks from the beach, and close to the Pastelaria I love!
Now, to find a car, and then some doctors, just in case. LOL
