Memorial Day really is a time for reflection and gratitude. Events like this help keep the meaning of the holiday centered on honoring those who served and sacrificed for our country. I always appreciate communities that continue traditions like cemetery flag placement, commemorative marches, and veteran recognition because they remind younger generations why the day matters. Thank you for sharing the Georgetown schedule and helping keep those memories and traditions alive.

Good morning, Doug... a somber holiday, Memorial Day, even if so many people don't treat it as such or understand why we have it. I know you'll be participating in many of these events.

Hi Kat Palmiotti. We usually have a couple of hundred+ people who line the roads and attend the venues. After the ceremony, a local church is hosting a BBQ for the veterans

Very nice. Most of the memorial services I've gone to have been sparsely attended.

So many wars and so many lives lost way too early.  It seems that wars have always been around and will always be part of the world.
