Roy, this is such a simple safety tip, yet one that could make an enormous difference in an emergency. A current photo provides first responders with immediate information about a child's appearance and clothing on that specific day. As families head out for summer activities, this is an easy precaution that takes only seconds but could prove invaluable if a child becomes separated from their parents.

Good morning, Roy... this is a great suggestion. In fact, maybe a photo should be snapped for each "adventure" before it begins... that way it's totally clear what a child was wearing.

That's a good idea, but I hope that no parent will become separated from their child.

Hi Roy- Excellent advice. We saw parents doing this many years ago when we lived in Leesburg. We went a festival in Lucketts and the parents took photos of their children standing by their car. It's a good thing to do everytime you are at a large outing...or even just going to the mall. 

Having an updated photo is so important!

What a great tips..so simple but you never know and rather be safe than sorry!

I was just out in Colorado with my 4-year-old grandson and his newborn brother. I think I took a TON of photos to remember those special moments.

Such a simple thing to do and a better way to memorialize an excursion, take a family photo before going into the event.

We always take photos of our little ones during the outing but, it never occured to me to take the photo BEFORE we get started! Brilliant, Roy! Thank you so much for sharing this.

A good tip, and it never hurts to be prepared.  Keep an eye on those little ones.
