Every day in the office I am constantly hearing all of the ups and downs of the real estate business. Daily I am learning of a new situation I've never encountered before. It's actually is part of what makes the real estate business so intriguing. If someone comes to me with a problem with a well I know exactly what steps to take to getting the water tested, checking for bacteria, etc, but if I had to actually go to a property and point out the well, it would never happen. (Unless maybe it had one of those little cap things sticking up in the yard) Its funny all of the different tidbits you pick up along the way. Even if you aren't actually selling real estate yourself. It only took me about 5 transactions to see that a career as a Realtor wasn't my cup of tea, but thankfully I still found my spot to fit in.
It didn't take long for me to figure out real estate wasn't necessarily about buyers and sellers anymore. A career in real estate requires knowledge in so many different areas and the sad part about it is when you start you really don't have any idea what you do or don't know...
•· If it wasn't for real estate, I am sure I would have no idea what a blackberry was. Being in the business has forced me to stay up to date with technology so I now have an office of Realtors using blackberry's.
•· If it wasn't for real estate, I wouldn't have a clue about mold. I wouldn't know that spraying it with bleach only "bleaches" the color out and doesn't actually fix the problem, which is something important for an asthmatic person to know!
•· If it wasn't for real estate, I wouldn't have know there wasn't even a difference between an ARM and a fixed rate mortgage.
Anyway, I think you get the point. It's just my opinion...
So what do you guys think? Is it just about the buyers and sellers? Are you able to take care of business without all the new gadgets, training classes, and such?
