On what I am about to share, I have reflected on over the decades and I must say, it improves with age LOL. My spouse Lucia, now Lucy, continues to amaze me and help me have a heart of appreciation. I will share some significant adventures that bonded us and helped us both to become better people. As for me, I believe I (me) came out ahead significantly

I MADE A LIST
Just as Santa makes a list every year, checks it twice, pays special attention to naughty or nice, I too have dabbled in this for personal reasons. Here goes
1. In addition to being a gentle soul, she has remarkable intuition. I say this because she has saved our bacon (mine especially), many times over thank you
2. I open my dresser drawer, and for 53 years, as if by magic, clean clothes appear folded, put away, rotated where needed. No wrinkles or stains
3. When we were down, she went to work to help us get back on track (twice)
4. Mother extraordinaire, kids were bathed, dressed & enrolled in sports plus+
5. Runs a perfect house from elegant to functional. Clean & orderly
6. She keeps herself in top shape, a perfect ten because of her high self-esteem & devotion to being a true woman. Very feminine and loves being that girl
7. Her courage is notable especially when having to come against an intimidating me, which amazes me to this day. This little 5.5 -110 lbs., packs some dynamite LOL
8. She helped me get a job by speaking to a girlfriend who spoke to the owner of a business of which we badly needed at the time help.
9. Went through two foreclosures, a bankruptcy and down to pennies with her never giving up, being resentful, and always leading the recovery efforts
10. If you expect me to list all the good, devotion, commitments over the decades, you are mistaken. You will just have to trust me (or not). It's my life that matters
11. Dragged me/family to church constantly until I saw the Truth that set me free
Someone once asked a Universal question that went like this: Is this person, whoever they are, have they made a difference in your life and where you better off for knowing them? YES for me
I am leaving out also a lot of juicy, behind the scenes of intimacy and how much nonsense she had to endure from me, amazing as I would left me (divorce)
When we first got married, she stated she would be happy living under a tree with me, which empowered me to do better and I did. Did I mention she served breakfast, packed lunches for the kids and always had dinner on the table? Not only that, but she also used to read Better Homes magazines and make their recipes for delicious dinner foods. I got years of that & the kids too
There is nothing I would deny this woman. She is worthy and has earned her rights and position by deed. I never quibble about money or anything she buys
Well-liked by so many people, friends & neighbors. We also worked together twice when we first started out, by selling hot dogs and later on, running a property management company.
The woman has kicked me under the table many times to keep me from saying things that were controversial. I still have a big bruise on my leg. LOL
I get nothing for sharing this. This is my testimony regarding my wife, my partner from the beginning (we were just high school kids) until one of us exits. I set her up nicely, if I go first, so she will lack for nothing, a most privileged thing to do because it's the right thing to do & I am proud to do it. Thankful too
We can sit in the same room and just enjoy each other being there. Lately, we have learned to laugh about everything first ourselves, then everything else
So that you don't get too sentimental, lets add a little balance. I learned about a woman's scorn from her, I also learned about how to argue to survive, that I may have had the last word, but she had the ever-lasting thought about all wrongs
Would I marry this woman again if I was just starting out? God is good here
P.S. A word about my mother. She gave all she had raising 5 children and a high-maintenance husband who was not a good provider. We ate a lot of potato salad thank you as I was full & filled. Looking back, I took note. Three months before she died, she asked me a very profound question and it took me a pause to answer. Was I a good mother? My whole life flashed before me in seconds, I held her eye contact, weighed the up's & downs, pluses & minuses & then answered: YES, yes, you were and she died with that blessing
