Good Tuesday morning, Nina. This is good information to share with area residents and visitors.

Enjoy the shows.

Thanks, Roy. I go to fewer theatre productions these days as it's hard for my husband to navigate stairs in theatres.

Good morning Nina. No plane ticket needed. Parking or a hotel close by and using Uber are both available. That's the story in nearby downtown Chicago and west suburban Aurora which offer multiple opportunities to see shows. I hav some navigational issues myself so tend not to go. Enjoy your day.

I don't think that I would know good theater from bad theater, especially since I tend to prefer the more amateur shows, haha.

Brian England hi Brian... this post deals with Broadway Shows specifically. And as you know, people travel from all over to NY City to go to Broadway plays. You don't need to leave Charlotte to see a Broadway play. Yay!

Even more reasons not to move to New York.  When local communities provide such outstanding entertainment, this is an inducement to moving there.

Leanne Smith hi Leanne... at one time if you wanted to see theatre, Broadway plays, do serious shopping, etc. you needed to leave Charlotte and go to Atlanta, Washington, DC, or NY City. No more and not for quite some time now.

I have seen some truly great productions from the traveling Broadway troops. These shows are often amazing at half the price of Broadway.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty exactly, Jeff! I remember going to NY City some years back and my brother wanted to take me to a Broadway show... I'd already seen all of them here in Charlotte at much less money for a ticket.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 you are so right, Sheila. One reason we chose Charlotte when we moved from NY City was because it offered theatre, ballet, opera, professional sports, Broadway shows, etc. Maybe on a smaller scale, but easy to attend and less costly.

Hi Nina,
I would love to see The Beautiful Noise. I missed it when the movie was in theatres. I've heard it was good, but I'm sure the Broadway play would be even better.

Carol Williams hi Carol... I haven't seen it either in movie or live form. It's often hard to say which is better... they are just different.

It's been nearly a year now since I've made it to the theatre now Nina Hollander, Broker I love a good play but I have not seen anything to peak my interest for a while. Than being said last night we went to a movie for the first time in a long time.

This was a very good movie and I recommend it if it comes to your area. All in all it was a sad movie but very interesting.

Bob "RealMan" Timm thanks for the recommendation, Bob. I'll keep an eye out for it. If I get to the movies once a year, it's a lot.

Nina NY City does seem to have its own special atmosphere, BUT even here in Hartford, CT we are able to see Broadway quality performances at the Bushnell Theater in Harford.

George Souto hi George... I have to admit that the last time I was at a Broadway play in NY City, the atmosphere was not great.

Hi Nina- for years Larry and I had season tickets to the Broadway Star Series in Houston as well as Theatre Under the Stars. You're right...no plane ticket needed!!! Loved it.

Kathy Streib and much easier to get there and get home. Catching cabs in NY City in rush hour to a show and then after a show was insane. And when the weather was bad, it was doubly insane.
