I glanced up at the number of posts that I have written here in the Rain and saw I have, as of today, written 2,300. For many of you on this platform, that number may appear to be low. However, I decided to break this down a bit.
I began my AR journey back in February of 2010! So, over 16 years ago, my blogging efforts became a reality. Since that time, here are my stats and why they matter:
2,300 Blog Posts:
On average, over the 16 years, this equates to about 4.8 posts per week. Sometimes that is the case, and other times, it is not. I have found that I write when I can, but I have found that I really enjoy creating the posts, creating the content (which was well before AI), and interacting with our AR members.
Most Viewed Post:
A somewhat innocuous post about a Houston AR Meet-UP has had over 51,000+ views. This was back in 2013.
Most Comments:
My first attempt at an AR Challenge received over 200+ comments. This was back in 2012.
Most Likes:
I found this one interesting. I received 60 likes for my post called, Dirty Little Secrets in Real Estate. Must have been the title! 🤪
My AR Stats:
I just crossed over the 1.7 million point mark. I rank 9th in Texas and 1st in Hood County.
So What Does This Mean?
Well, for one, I have met some wonderful folks here in the Rain. Many of whom I consider to be very close friends.
I found that I enjoy writing and, since my days of blogging, have published two books. I do believe that blogging gave me the confidence to write those books.
I still receive calls from blog posts that I wrote years before. The Internet is an amazing thing.
Blogging has proven to be an effective tool for me in a unique manner for my real estate career. Many just don't stick with it.
If you think blogging is a thing of the past, I disagree. I believe our written words are important and help our clients understand our niche markets. Blogging is also an excellent tool to share your community events, places, and unique features with the world.
Come on over and join our blogging world here in the Rain. I think you will find a wonderful community, so much to learn, and a skill set that could set you apart in your industry!
