Don't throw away those old real estate signs.

**Repost. We repurposed a large number of old signs when we made a slight change to our company name in 2024. It saved us a lot of money.

Don't throw those old real estate and political signs away. Re-purpose them. When I started my brokerage, I had a lot of old real estate signs from my three previous broker's offices. What good are they when you start with a new company? Plenty.

Rather than buying all new signs, why don't you create your new signs through BuildASign.com? Even better, why don't you create detail that will cover your old signs and give them new life. The cost is much lower, and it will give you the ability to make signs specifically for your needs at the time.

I've been able to create open house, house for sale, real estate school and regular company signs for much less than buying all new signs. It has kept my old signs out of the landfill, and it has given me a vast array of new creative options.

Build A Sign also has big box company logo signs that you can customize with your own pictures or artwork. So, when you're ready for new signs, don't throw your old real estate and political signs away, re-purpose them.

The Build A Sign site is easy to work with, and you'll be happy with the results. There are multiple options for the type of material, size of the sign and colors you can use. You will approve the design before you place the order, and in a few weeks you'll have fresh new signs to use in your business.

This is a great reminder that our old signs can be covered over. I am getting ready to do the same thing.

Good morning, Mike... this is certainly very useful information for many agents. Saves money and is good for the environment... all at the same time.

Hello Mike and excellent suggestions to share with us here in the Rain.  I have lots of frames and signs also to reuse.

Hi Mike,
I gave my old signs to my brother to paint and repurpose for signs on his farm.

Most agents in my market aren't going to have many signs because typically the agent is selling individual apartments (often only 1 or 2) within a larger building and the building won't permit individual signs. For those that sell townhouses/brownstones, these are the agents likely to have signs. It's a small number of agents that will have signs here- but this could still be a useful tip.

That is a great idea, and I will check it out and see if I can repurpose any of my old signs!

I have used Buildasign to make some non real-estate signs, but it's a great idea to use to repurpose real estate signs as well.

I had several solid a-frame open house signs that I repurposed with simple tape. All that was important was nongeneric and people always found the houses.

Good idea.  I have moves away from metal signs as they have become targets for gun shots and to the foam-core signs. Out here between the wind and the sun the signs are often not able to be re-purposed.
