With all of the words and name-calling being shouted at each other, it’s hard to keep from wanting to dig a big hole and crawl into it.
And it’s not just the in-person vitriol we hear but the harsh and unkind words we read on social media.
Turn on a “news” show, and the talking heads don’t speak anymore. They shout at each other and into the screen.
The above quote says it all.
Many no longer watch mainstream news. Sadly, families and friendships have been tarnished or even dissolved because we’ve allowed all of the antagonism to seep into our space.
However, we have choices. Even though some of the negativity is unavoidable, it’s up to us to fill the holes or weigh the anchor for calmer waters.
If you’re beginning to feel overwhelmed or inundated by the yahoos (not the email) and other talking heads around you…pull up your anchor and surround yourself with all the things and people who lift you up!
Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.
