Some Days Are Just Too Warm.

We had a string of record, or near record setting days at the end of May. Many people thought they were going to melt. That's the thing about living in North Dakota, even the 70's seem to hot to some. That last week in May we had several 90's so pretty much everyone here thought it was to hot.

While I am not aware of anyone actually melting here I am aware of many people having heat strokes, in fact a close friend had one last week when I was out of town (she is fine today due to the fast action of bystanders in the immediate area).

My Point:

If you are moving to North Dakota expect extremes. If you stay for any amount of time you can expect your body to adjust to low temps as the norm. You too will start believing that 75 degrees will make you melt.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .For Timmothy's website type timmtimmothy.com into your browser. I tried to put it in a link here but it refuses to work. Do NOT put anything in front of timmtimmothy.com or it will not work.

Glad you are back Bob. Hey with your "warm personality" after your return, that could be causing it. Just sayin'...Jeff 😬

Good morning, Bob... that's sort of like here in Charlotte, people who've moved from places with cold winters start thinking that 50 degrees in winter is a cold day!

Everything has its costs. In Florida we get 4 months of summer hell but the rest of the time it is good to great. When I lived up north we got 4 months of hell in the winter followed by the rest being good. Pick your poison...I prefer A/C to heating.

Hi Bob,
Our weather has been a bit bipolar lately. Record highs to record lows within a short time span. It's an unsettled time of year.

They need to visit the post that I just read on the blog of John Pusa which listed ways to keep a home cool, haha.

Hello Bob "RealMan" Timm you are right, some days are to warm and other days are cooler. We need to stay cool during the summer heat.

Expert guidance. Exceptional results.

That story hit with a mix of humor and truth, Bob "RealMan" Timm, and it sure paints a clear picture of how wild those swings can feel out there. I’m glad your friend’s alright, and the reminder about how our bodies adapt made me smile because it’s so spot on. Thanks for sharing this slice of real life. It brought a warm grin to my day.
