Tuesday's Treasures…The Village Showed Up!
This weekend, we celebrated the graduation of my great-nephew, Luke. It’s a busy time of year with graduations and recitals, but we still had about 40 family members at the house!

A Texas graduation calls for Texas BBQ, and that’s what we had…and plenty of it! Thank goodness we had it catered!
One of the sweetest and most thoughtful gifts was a video made by Luke’s cousin, Reid. It was as good as a professionally done video, and Reid is only about 9!
Luke’s mother, my niece Jennifer, thanked all those who were part of the village that nurtured, encouraged, and helped shape Luke and the other children in our family.
As I looked around the room, I saw aunts who babysit when needed; uncles who pitch in at various sports activities; grandparents who do what they do best…spoil their grandchildren and take over specially prepared meals; and cousins who are always there for support.

I am blessed to have a family where everyone pitches in when they can. We share discipline if necessary, and we all give meaning to the old proverb-It takes a village to raise a child.
Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.
