Housing Market Trends May Of 2026

On June 3, 2026, Realtor.com reported that nationwide median list price of a home was $429,500 in May of 2026, higher 1.1% from April of 2026, but lower 2.4% from May of 2025.

There were 1,058,693 listed inventory of homes in May of 2026, rose 5.6% from April of 2026, and gained 2.2% from May 2025.

There were 464,976 new listed homes declined 0.4% in May of 2026 from April of 2026, but grew 2.2% from May of 2025.

Houses stayed 52 days in the market in May of 2026, increased 1 day from 51 days in May of 2025 according to Realtor.
