For decades, homebuyers were told that the seller paid all the real estate fees. This was the truth, but it was not "the whole truth and nothing but the truth."
That the seller paid the fees was always just semantics. A shell game to satisfy mortgage underwriting guidelines, primarily.
The buyer's cash (or loan) to buy the home is what gave the seller the proceeds with which to pay their agent and other settlement fees. The buyer not only historically already paid for their agent, but they also paid the fee for the seller's agent.
A homebuyer has the right to choose their own agent. Don't shortchange yourself by hiring a mediocre agent to represent your side of the transaction. And certainly, don't make the mistake of working with the agent who represents the seller!
An Exclusive Buyer's Agent's job is to help you buy a home at the best price and terms for you, the buyer.
Buying a home in Salt Lake City or the Surrounding Area? Make sure you get an Agent on YOUR side of the transaction!
