By
Industry Observer CDRE #01044712

Every year on June 11th, and this year on Thursday June 11, 2026, we celebrate the Happy National Corn On The Cob Day.

The fresh corn on the cob cooking makes want us to eat delicious corn on the cob.

The history of corn dates back to nearly 7,000 years ago harvested in Mexico. From Mexico, corn spread north into what is now the U.S. Native American's planted and harvested corn, making it plentiful across North America.

Wishing a Happy National Corn On The Cob Day to ActiveRain Community and to all people everywhere.

Good morning, John, of course there'd be a day for corn on the cob. Afterall, why not? I like corn on the cob, but my husband doesn't eat corn, so not likely I'll have any today. :(

Hello Nina Hollander, Broker perhaps your husband can try to eat some corn to celebrate the day with you. Thank you for the comment.

John, there is nothing quite like fresh corn on the cob during the summer months! It’s fascinating to learn that its history roots back 7,000 years to Mexico. Thank you for sharing this fun piece of history, and Happy National Corn on the Cob Day to you as well!

Good morning John. Was not aware of corn on the cob day. The first year we moved there was a road side stand nearby with the best sweet corn. Then the farmer changed the crop to single family homes and townhomes. Progress robbed me of that great sweet corn. Enjoy your day.
