Respect For Others

Services for Real Estate Pros with Ward County Notary Services 607851

I don't remember the last time I encountered someone with really bad body order but I don't need a reminder of how unpleasant it is either.

That being said, I sweat pretty easily if the temp is above 75 and I am active. A good example is the last time that I mowed the lawn it was in the upper 80's. I needed a shower immediately after.

Having been in sales all my life I know the importance of good grooming. If you are face to face with a client or potential client the last thing you want to do is to give a negative impression to that client. We are often defined in peoples minds by actions that turn a person off.

Throughout my careers(s) I tried to dress my best with the wardrobe I owned. On occasion it was too much for some people but all in all it worked out well for me.

As we say, all Real Estate is local. So are mannerisms. If you are new to a community but you are in the same occupational field that you were in half way across the country it will benefit you to observe "how things are done here".

Those seeking to obtain their Real Estate license should take note, State mandated courses focus on how to not end up in jail. State mandated courses do very little to nothing in teaching you how to be a sales person. Again, I encourage you to think local and find out "how things are done here" (the community you will be practicing in).

As we say, all Real Estate is local. So are mannerisms.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .For Timmothy's website type timmtimmothy.com into your browser. I tried to put it in a link here but it refuses to work. Do NOT put anything in front of timmtimmothy.com or it will not work.

Hi Bob,
You are so right. My area is relatively casual. No one here wears dress-up clothes unless they are an attorney or in an executive position.  Mirroring other local professionals in your field is a good idea.

I agree with you Carol Williams that mirroring successful local professionals is a good practice.

I’m not dressing up anymore either, but that doesn’t mean I show up in flip-flops, torn jeans, or with bedhead. Most of the time, I stick to business casual.

Nothing worse than a stinky Realtor if you ask me. Maybe one with really bad breath.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty I have been to mid-day CE courses where some Realtors reeked of alcohol too. Not very impressive.

Hello Bob... having lived in France where body odor was an issue I understand this piece of advice. And also bad breath... notoriously bad about brushing their teeth.

I've heard of this Nina Hollander, Broker but I've never been to Europe to witness it. I understand it is also common for women not to shave their legs as well. Being I am a leg man that would be a huge turn off.

Bob "RealMan" Timm It is important to be well-groomed. Walking into a listing or showing homes looking like a slob or smelling like you need a shower, and your hair needs to be combed, does not make a good impression. It surprises me how some agents come to real estate closings looking so unprofessional. I guess times are changing, but not for me.

We are in the same club Hannah Williams . I have seen agents exactly as you describe at closings.

It's been a more casual look in my area for as long as I can remember Bob.  As for staying 'fresh' I am so happy that I just got about 6 inches of thick hair chopped off my head.  Holy smokes that was a lot of work trying to keep it clean and looking good.

wish I knew what that is like Anna "Banana" Kruchten . My wife and son do as they both have extremely thick hair.
