4th of July Events ~ Granbury, TX

It's going to be a huge event this 4th of July in Granbury, Texas! We are going to celebrate our country's 250th in a big way! Granbury is known for its stellar festivals and events and the 4th of July has consistently been a well-attended, popular celebration.

Here are some insider tips:

🎆 Put out your chairs the day before the parade. Yes, people do this every year and the chairs are fine. Most people put up ribbon to claim their chairs.

🎆 Best parade watching spots - if you know a business owner or homeowner along Pearl St. from Morgan Street to the Square, these are prime spots. Also, anywhere on the Square is good but you've got to put out your chairs early.

🎆 Bring umbrellas and lots of water. This is a super hot time of year in Texas so being prepared is paramount.

🎆 Parking is always a challenge during any celebratory event in Granbury. You may need to park a bit off the beaten path so make sure you have proper walking shoes. Take elderly or disabled peeps and drop them off before the event so they won't have to walk far in the heat.

🎆 For the fireworks show, again, parking is difficult and getting to you place to view early is important. The fireworks are set off across the lake from the Granbury beach. Finding an unobstructed view is great. A really high area is at Reunion Grounds.

🎆 Because of all of our June rain, skeeters will be on the hunt! Be prepared. I prefer natural bug repellents such as those made from essential oils. You can find these to purchase or make your own.

🎆 If watching the fireworks by boat, make sure and anchor near the site early on. And most importantly, be extremely cautious driving the boat in the dark after the show.

Most of all, come to enjoy the day or the weekend in Granbury. There are plenty of great hotels, lodges, and STR. Book early to secure your accomodations. Granbury is a fabulous town that will have plenty of things to do all weekend.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

This is my favorite time of year!  I love patriotism, and with this year being the 250th anniversary, it's going to be something else, I think!

Good morning, Paula... I would have been very surprised if Granbury didn't celebrate Independence Day "big time." Especially on America's 250th birthday! I'm sure Granbury residents are looking forward to all the July 4th celebrations.
