Friday Flags: Sit and Relax in Watertown CT

Fo a few years now, I have played in a senior golf league in Watertown CT on Wednesday mornings. Not only does it allow me time on a course I greatly enjoy, but I get to play with some fellow golfers that I have known for guite a few years.

There was some road construction that afforded me some time to glance about and I saw an opportunity that I never noticed before. I poulled over and went to take this shot.

How opportune to see a place to stop, read a book, watch the world go by and have a reminder just over your head as to how fortunate we are for where we live.

It brought a smile to my face, and I gladly share it here as well.

One thing I've learned from traveling and experiencing other cultures is just how fortunate we are to live in America. No country is perfect, but seeing how people live in other parts of the world gives valuable perspective and a deeper appreciation for the freedoms, opportunities, and quality of life many of us take for granted.

Hello Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 - I do not need any reasons to love this Country or respect our flag - I say that because I am seeing on TV how people here from other Countries are raving about America and how beautiful it is - all the while we have political figures openly expressing their hate for America.  I just don't get it. 

I can see myself sitting on that bench just taking it all in.  Great photo!
