Saturday Soundness ~ Speaking Words of Wellness

By

Good morning, and good health and wellness to you today! Have you ever thought about the words that you speak? Do you find yourself saying things like:

"I have a cold." "I have cancer." "I have an autoimmune disease."

I am sure we have all said these statements. What if you started changing the narrative?

"I am fighting a cold." "I am battling cancer." "I am beating my autoimmune disease."

Your words and thoughts have specific frequencies. These frequencies affect every cell in your body. When you claim to HAVE something, you are basically giving in to that malady. You've claimed that it's YOURS.

However, when you change your words to reflect a different attitude and intention, you change the frequency. You do not have to claim these things in your life. You do have the choice to change the way you think about the things affecting you.

And guess what? It costs nothing to change your narrative. Why not give it a try? When you re-think, re-train, and re-wire your words and your brain, you are giving yourself permission to let go of those things that may be holding you back.

Give it a try! Challenge yourself to "capture" these thoughts and words and determine to change the narrative. How about giving these narratives to rule your life:

"I am strong!"

"I am vibrant."

"I radiate health and well-being."

Have a wonderful weekend! Good health to you! You can change your own narrative!

This is such an uplifting and profound reminder, Dr. Paula! You are so right—the words we choose to attach to ourselves carry immense weight and completely shape our mindset. Switching the narrative from a passive "I have" to an active, empowering "I am fighting" or "I am beating" completely changes the energy and gives us our power back.

It really is a beautiful reminder that our thoughts and words are the ultimate foundation for our overall wellness. Thank you for sharing this inspiring message to kick off the weekend!

Hi Paula,
My friend and I were just talking about the importance of our words on the golf course the other day.  How we frame things is so important!

Paula, such an uplifting post, and you are right, how we say things, may say how we think about this.  I say - I HAD thyroid cancer.

Passive versus active language.  When I was engaged in sales coaching, I insisted all goals start with a verb. Yes the words we speak and more importantly think have a profound affect on our behaviors. A great post and more than a gentle reminder.

Dr. Paula McDonald  using those words to oneself is fine, but the majority of people we meet during the day, don't want that much information and stating it only makes then uncomfortable.  Our issues can stay within our walls and let the world see the smiles.

Good evening Paula,

Its all about the narrative! I couldn't agree with you more, its all how you frame your wording. It can make a difference!

Our thoughts have so much power, and there is definitely power in positive thinking!  I was reminded of this yesterday morning.  I have had a nagging little sore throat and runny nose, and what has affected me most through it is my level of energy being much lower than it usually is.  While playing tennis, I felt like I couldn't do it and the more I thought negatively, the worse it got, haha.  I remember getting back in the action with positive thoughts, and even though I was still very tired, I felt a little bit of a second wind coming my way, haha.

Paula I learned early one the words and thoughts matter - A LOT!  Thankfully that started with my Mom was a very wise and funny lady!  And it certainly has make a difference for me this past year.  I found lots to laugh about and enjoy!  And now I'm having fun feng shuing the house again - which we do quite often.  Shift up the energy!
