There are closings, and then there are closings that stay with you forever.
Today was one of those.
No, it wasn't my biggest settlement. Not even close. It certainly wasn't my quickest. We're talking years, not days, from the time we first discussed selling until the day we finally sat down at the closing table.
It was a studio apartment.

Over the years, many people told me it would be difficult to sell. Some didn't like the size. Some had no idea what a coop was. Others didn't understand the charm. Many commented on the furniture, the antiques, the artwork, and the very personal style that filled the space.
But my seller never wavered.
"I told you," She said to me more than once. "The right person will find it."
And today, she was right.
One of the most beautiful parts of this transaction was that neither the seller nor I had ever met the buyer. Another agent represented her. We knew very little about the person who would eventually call this bright studio home.
Then came the closing. The buyer walked in and shared, that from the very first moment she stepped through the apartment door, she knew she was home. It was so bright! She loved everything about it. The furniture was exactly her style. The antiques spoke to her. The artwork resonated with her. The very things that others had questioned were the things that made her fall in love.
What so many people saw as obstacles, she saw as treasures!
The seller looked at me and said, "I told you. I told you. I told you the right person would find it."
And she had.
There were hugs between the buyer and the seller. There were smiles, laughter, and a genuine sense that something much bigger than a real estate transaction had taken place.
As Realtors®, we often celebrate quick sales, multiple offers, and record-breaking numbers. But sometimes the most meaningful transactions are the ones that take time. The ones that require patience, perseverance, and the willingness to wait for the person who sees the value that others miss.
Today's closing reminded me that homes have personalities, and people do too.
Sometimes, the perfect match takes a little longer to find.
When it finally happens, it feels a little like magic.
