Coming from a long line of military people, who have proudly served, Flag Day is a day of observance and an opportunity to commemorate the birthday of the flag. Though not a holiday, it is a day to honor a great symbol of the United States of America.

I pledge allegiance to the flag

of the United States of America

and to the Republic for which it stands,

one nation under God, indivisible, with

liberty and justice for all. Amen.

The US flag has always grabbed my attention, Brian England. I remember living on base when "Retreat" started playing, pulling over the car, getting out, standing and saluting the flag. Respect for the flag is big in my family!
