My blog post title has nothing to do with guns or drugs. I will touch upon Timmothy's cartoon however.
Every Spring we break out the fans and every year it seems like we end up one short. They don't build them like they used to. We still have one old metal box fan that keeps hanging on. That fan weighs a ton and often rattles as it works. I can't tell you how many "modern" plastic box fans we have gone through but it seems like one fall to the floor and they are shot.

As usual we were short one again this year. Lucky for me I spotted a "floor drying fan" at the thrift store last Friday. This one looked brand new and I've always wanted one so I bought it. It's a dandy and I have no doubt it would blow a guinea pig away if one would step in front of it.

It's not beautiful but I keep it at the bottom of the basement steps and it blows that cool air upstairs effortlessly. It's even quit too and you can't kick it over.
This would be a good time for me to mention the importance of air circulation in a home. I have three fans running in my basement all year long. WHY? Basements have a tendency to smell musty. Good circulation will prevent that. Also we suffered a flood in 2011 and homes that have been flooded often end up with mold problems. Not mine, good ventilation insures it.
