Summer is a time for family gatherings, vacations, lake days, and making memories. Unfortunately, it can also be a season of tragedy when safety precautions are overlooked.
Recently, a heartbreaking accident occurred at a local lake after heavy rains, resulting in the loss of several young lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this unimaginable tragedy.
As we head into the busy summer season—and especially with the July 4th holiday approaching—please take a few extra moments to think about safety:
Never leave children unattended near water.
Make sure everyone wears a properly fitted life jacket when boating or swimming in open water.
Be aware that lakes, rivers, and streams can have strong currents and hidden dangers, especially after heavy rainfall.
Never mix alcohol and boating.
Use fireworks responsibly and follow local regulations.
Stay hydrated and watch for signs of heat exhaustion.
A few simple precautions can save a life.
Let's work together to make this summer one filled with fun, laughter, and safe memories for our families and community.
Please share this reminder with friends and loved ones.
