Thankful Thursdays…The Human Spirit Still Exists
Through the years, countless events and people have conspired to subdue the human spirit, yet it continues to endure. As recently as 2020, we lived through a worldwide virus when businesses were shut down, education halted, and what we knew as the norm was M.I.A.
There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect.

And yet, here we are. I marvel at the resiliency of the human spirit. Every time a team comes back from defeat to win, when someone overcomes insurmountable health issues and reaches their personal goals, and when a child is teased at school but moves on to find a new group of friends… these are good examples of the human spirit.
Our human spirit has taken us to the moon, to the depths of the oceans, and to the highest mountains.
There are incalculable resources in the human spirit, once it has been set free.

It’s been fun watching the human spirit shine through the World Cup and the recent college World Series of Baseball.
That same human spirit resides in all of us. It’s the desire to try and do more than anyone thought we could.
It’s the determination to just go for it when the world seems to be conspiring against us.
If you have wee ones in your life...please don’t ever dampen that human spirit. Encourage them to try.
Lift them up when they fail and encourage them to try again.
Both now and for always, I intend to hold fast to my belief in the hidden strength of the human spirit.
