Good morning Nina. I bet it would be easy to find front and center spokespeople for a certain political party to dispute some of these umbers. And yet the loyalists who vote for them in reality disagree with their spoken words. Enjoy your day.

Wayne Martin hi Wayne... many of these numbers have been consistent for many years... political winds notwithstanding.

Wow, those are quite the statistics. I think we should make our own flags here!

Kat Palmiotti good morning, Kat... I heard this statistic years ago about China being the primary producer of American flags and was appalled. There are a couple of American companies who make our flags, but they are a drop in the bucket compared to what comes from China.

Wow, Nina, some of those numbers are staggering. What is discouraging to me is that we're celebrating America's 250th birthday at a time when some surveys suggest fewer Americans say they're proud to be Americans. I hope the celebrations remind us not only of our history, but also of how fortunate we are to live in a country where freedom and opportunity still draw people from around the world.

Carol Williams good morning, Carol... I would not disagree with a single word you wrote. Part of the problem is that when we were growing up we were taught to be patriotic. We had a flag in every classroom. We said the pledge of allegiance every day. This has not been happening for a long time.

Carol Williams and Nina, I couldn't agree more. Colleges are no longer teaching but rather indoctrinating our young adults to their cause.  What we once held to be sacred have been tossed out.

These statistics are truly eye-opening, Nina! It’s fascinating—and a bit sobering—to see how much these traditions, like the origin of our flags, have shifted over the years. Thank you for sharing such a detailed look at the 250th birthday celebrations. Wishing you a wonderful and safe Independence Day!

I would enjoy attending a 4th of July picnic or BBQ if I were to get invited to one, haha.

Brian England well, we were invited to one... but way too hot in Charlotte to be out of doors. We passed (politely).

Nina, With weather being predicted for at least 102 here starting tomorrow and Saturday, unless it somehow gets really cool in the evening, we'll be watching the FIFA games along with your hubby!
