ACT TODAY!!! - Track Your Ballot: Simple Steps for Mail Voting Clarity

A new federal proposal aims to make mail-in ballots easier to track and verify. The plan is simple. Add clear labels, use tracking barcodes, and confirm how many ballots are sent and returned. The goal is trust through visibility.

Right now, this proposal is still open. The Postal Service is collecting public comments before making a decision. Anyone in the United States can respond. The deadline is July 2 at 5:00 PM Eastern.

This matters because mail-in voting can feel uncertain. Once a ballot is sent, many people do not know where it goes or if it arrives. Tracking and reconciliation aim to fix that. They create a clear path from sender to receiver.

There is also a legal question in progress about whether the Postal Service has the authority to set these rules. That issue is not settled. But public input is still part of the process.

If you choose to participate, keep it simple. Write a few sentences in your own words. Say who you are and why ballot tracking matters to you. Real comments carry more weight than copied text. Be clear and respectful.

To submit, send an email with the subject line “Ballot Mail” and include your full name and mailing address. Without that, your comment will not count. SEND IT TO THIS ADDRESS: PCFederalRegister@usps.gov

This is a small window to take part in a national process. Clear systems build confidence. Confidence supports stronger outcomes.

Good morning Heath. The best thing that can happen is for the post office to verify who the ballot is being sent to before tracking its return. Enjoy. your day.

This is a great point, Heath. Voter confidence is essential, and clear, transparent tracking processes would definitely help eliminate that uncertainty people often feel with mail-in ballots. Thanks for sharing this important reminder and the info on how to provide input today!
