Friday Fun…Nope, You Can’t Go Back!
You know the saying “You can’t go home again.”? It’s true. This week, Larry and I were out running errands, so we decided to drive by two of our previous homes.
It’s been 39 and 30 years since we lived in either of the two houses. Oy vey, what they’ve done to one of them! It was painted an ugly, dark army green! It would probably list at over 1 million! (It was not anywhere near that when we sold it) but my first thought when I saw it was "ick."

Our other “old” home (and one of our favorites) still looked good. It’s understandable that in the 39 years since we lived there, houses have been torn down and rebuilt. Because of land values, the houses are now “gigantor” contemporary homes. I felt claustrophobic driving through.
I loved every moment we lived there, but if the homes were on the market right now, I’d pass.
Home is people. Not a place. If you go back there after the people are gone, then all you can see is what is not there anymore.

What about you…have you revisited your former homes? What did you think???
