Restrooms and Attitudes Can Both Stink.

Timmothy's cartoon today is easy to relate to Real Estate on many levels. Let's start with:

Stinky Homes

A home that stinks is NOT going to sell at the same price as comparable homes on the market. The stink makes your home not comparable. What makes a home stink? Pet smells and often food smells, i.e. greasy fried fish.

I think it's important, as a Realtor, to point out that bad smells are not limited to "stinky" things. Most home buyers/shoppers recognize when air fresheners are being used to cover up stinky things.

Stinky Attitudes

Keep in mind that everyone has his/her day and a stinky attitude may not be a permanent or even semi-permanent thing, HOWEVER if you encounter that attitude from someone two or more times it may be time to move on to another: Realtor, Lender, Contractor, etc.

The point to this post is, as said earlier, many things in Real Estate and life in general can stink. Some times it passes, sometimes it lingers.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Hello, Bob "RealMan" Timm you are spot on with this.  Years ago, I listed a home (short sale) that had such a strong curry smell that it prevented it from selling. I blogged about it, and a magazine picked up the article.  The home did eventually sell. 

As for the stinky attitudes - flush them!
