Nerdin Gardens: Something Really Special
Every year, the anticipation of another successful growing season in the back yard home garden gets us excited. My husband aka Mr. Green Jeans, has a way of taking spaces and turning them into something really special, as you can see here.
Ensuring all processes are in place, like adequate water to each plant, bush and tree are essential for uniform growth. Successful gardening also requires being present, remaining diligent through setbacks plus using common sense.
All around us the flowers are blooming and the greenery bursting with gifts to enjoy later this summer. The garden has become a place of rest for us, relieving the stresses that come from busy work week schedules.
Every year the growing list of fruits and vegetables changes for our needs. In the past, we have grown 6 varieties of tomatoes, zucchini, pumpkins, cucmbers, collard greens, a bevy of peppers, artichokes, peas, beans, , strawberries, grapes and muscadines.
My husband is a master gardener | green thumb and possesses the ability to grow plants easily and create relaxing spaces for everyone's enjoyment. His rose garden is nutrient rich, healthy, magnificent when in full bloom. I'm impressed!
Peace roses, red roses, white, roses, coral roses, yellow, lavender roses and miniature roses offer a bright spot of color as well as white, yellow and pink Hollyhocks with vibrant snapdragons. Hanging flowers baskets pop with bright hues.
Maintaining a home garden takes much work and dedication. We pull the weeds ourselves, opting out of poisonous herbicides or pesticides. While we are unable to control what other producers add to their methods, we can and implement our own.
