Friday Fun…Closing/Hostess Gifts!
Peter Mohylsky, Broker wrote a post about housewarming gifts, and I began thinking of the gifts I've given. I’ve received some that hit it out of the ballpark, not because of how much they were, but the thought behind them.

What about hostess gifts? You remember your mother’s admonition…never go to someone’s home empty-handed!
If you bring a bottle of wine (the most popular hostess gift), it’s often a good idea to let them know they can open it at a later date.
One of my favorite gifts to receive is flowers because they're something I rarely buy for myself. If you're bringing flowers to a hostess, though, remember that she may be busy greeting guests and putting the finishing touches on the meal. Rather than having her stop to find a vase and fill it with water, consider having the flowers delivered the next day—or better yet, arrive with them already arranged in a vase.

Chocolates, a scented candle, and a good bottle of olive oil are all excellent gifts for your hostess. If you know them well, arrive with a gift that reflects their tastes or is related to their hobby.
By the way, one gift for the cook…Kat Palmiotti’s handmade wooden spoons!!!
So, for some Friday Fun…share with us what you like to give or receive for a hostess gift?
And, if you give closing gifts, what do you like to give??
