As a Realtor, one of the questions I hear most often is, "What's it like living in Berea or Richmond?"
The answer isn't found only in home prices or neighborhood statistics, it's found in the community itself.
This week reminded us why Madison County continues to be such a special place to call home.
The Berea Craft Festival once again brought together local artists, small businesses, and visitors from across the region. Even with rainy skies, the event highlighted Berea's creative spirit and strong sense of community.
Economic development also made headlines as leaders shared a vision for the future of the Blue Grass Army Depot. Plans involving drone technology, advanced manufacturing, and military innovation could create opportunities that benefit the entire region for years to come.
Housing also remained a topic of discussion as Berea City Council reviewed manufactured housing issues. Conversations like these matter because they can influence future housing choices and affordability for current and future residents.
Unfortunately, the week also included difficult news. A Berea family is seeking answers following a fatal shooting, and the suspect in the tragic Berea bank shooting has now been indicted. While these stories are heartbreaking, they remind us how communities come together during challenging times.
One of the things I enjoy most about serving clients in Madison County is helping people understand not just the homes available, but the community they'll become part of. Local events, economic growth, public discussions, and neighborhood news all play a role in what makes an area a great place to live.
Whether you're buying your first home, relocating, or simply staying informed, knowing what's happening locally helps you make better decisions.
