I bought a New Fry Pan to Cook With!

For those of you who know me, or have followed me on Activerain for some time, you know I rarely cook.

Based on this fact, you might be wondering why I purchased this new frying pan from Amazon. Maybe you assume I will be taking up more cooking because I am inspired by your recipe posts (that is a big NO). You might think it was simply time for me to update my cooking supplies (unfortunately, also a big NO). You might assume this is a present for someone else to cook for me (this would be a good guess, but also NO).

Yesterday I decided to coon a fried egg for myself. A simple fried egg that I would put on a piece of toast! I grabbed a frying pan from the pantry (not my pan...I do not own one), and put it on the stove top. I put it on medium heat, put in some butter, cracked the egg, dropped it in the pan, threw out the old shell, and was on my way!

I then remembered that I needed to send a photo to the listing agent on a home my client is buying. It would only take a minute. I had some issues with the agent receiving the email (for some reason we discovered it went to her junk mail).

When I returned to my egg (I guess 10-15 minutes later, after the smoke alarm alert), the egg and pan were no longer viable to eat or cook in.

The new fry pan will be here in 48 hours.

My lesson...stay in your lane.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty I knew this post would be a GOOD ONE.   I too burning BOILING WATER, while getting back to the computer to do something.   Lesson, do not multi-tax, it usually ends up a disaster.   I too had to buy a new pan.  Hope you try that fried egg again, in your new pan.

Funny seeing this post - squirrel!   LOL!  Been there, done that. Only I was boiling eggs and boiled the water completely dry.  Caught it just in time not to have to buy a pan :)

Good morning Jeffrey. Staying in your lane has provided me a laugh. Once I was using the common these days convenience of filtered water from my refrigerator, Why did I think it came with an automatic shut off? Let's just say I washed the kitchen floor in cold water. That's my story and I am sticking to it.

Jeffrey, I think you learned the wrong lesson. The lesson is not “stay in your lane.” It’s “Never try to cook and do real estate at the same time.” Apparently, listing agents and fried eggs both require your undivided attention. 😂

Jeff, I do know, even though I don't cook a lot that one doesn't walk away, after dropping the egg in the pan, and while eating it, consider what needs to be done next

Hello Jeffrey - even though I have a certain history in the kitchen-world it's not noteworthy yet not as catastrophic as your experience.  Focus and fry, baby, fry.

I try...I really do try Michael Jacobs

My issue is focus. I am not sure why I can focus on anything except cooking.

Yes I believe distractions have caused such events. My great grandmother was well known for starting something in the kitchen, then going out to work in the garden only to return to a now no usable pan or eatable dinner

The 2nd was the experience as a whole.
