Tuesday’s Treasures…Chocolate Chip Cookies!

There is nothing I wouldn’t share with my friends and loved ones…except for my last homemade chocolate chip cookie.

When I was growing up, these wonderful vessels for chocolate chips were always in our cookie jar. Often, I could catch their wonderful scent when I walked in the kitchen after school.

Today is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! In my opinion, the best chocolate chip cookies are homemade. I can pass on the brand-name store-bought chocolate chip cookies. And I’ve tried some from local bakeries, and while they’re not bad, they’re still wasted calories for me.

Chocolate chip cookies come in many “textures.”
-the Classic Toll House Cookie style- crispy edge with a soft center

-Chewy

-Thin & Crispy

-Pan-banging* Picture a Chocolate Chip Palmier ((‘m tring this one!)

Years ago, Larry and I were on a quest to find the best chocolate chip cookie recipe. To that end, we tried 8 different recipes, and still couldn’t decide on the perfect one, but we loved sampling our experiments.

Good morning, Kathy... I agree there's nothing better than a fresh chocolate chip cookie... preferably soft and with semi-sweet chips. As you know, I don't bake cookies, so I don't know where I'll get my fix today. :)

Nina Hollander, Broker I'm confessing something to only YOU....for the first time ever I bought the Toll House Cookies -a dozen- in the refrigerated section at my store. They come shaped in little cubes. You break as many as you want and put them in the Air Fryer!!! They were pretty good!!!!

Good morning Kathy. I can avoid sweets most of the time. When my son and his family come for the weekend JoAnn makes my son Chocolate Chip Cookies. While they are warm and still cooling, I am guilty of grabbing a few. Today, not likely to have one. Enjoy your day.

Wayne Martin my sweet uncle used to arrive just as I was taking out my first batch of chocolate chip cookies, which inevitably were a little burnt. He'd always eat a few and tell me that's exactly how he liked his cookies.

Oh my gosh, you just gave me memories of my mom's cookie jar, which also had cookies in it at all times. I loved right-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies where the chips were all gooey. Oh yum.

Kathy, after talking about these cookies online the other day, going to store, I found NO chocolate chips. Plus, don't have a mixer, or measuring cups. Guess the store bought cookies will have to do. Even the pastelarias/bakeries don't offer these.

I DO NOT do wasted calories or sugar for the most part. If something isn't as enjoyable as I had hoped it would be, it gets tossed.
