Debra Leisek - Oh, to be a kid again! Too bad Seniors don't have these opportunities instead of retirement homes where the best part of living there is eating in a dining room at a scheduled time each day.

Good morning, Patricia... so many fun activities of people of all ages in Flower Mound during the summer. The doggie pool party sounds like so much fun... but sadly, my dog hates water so I'd never be able to drag him to one of those.

Hi Patricia,
I want to be a kid in Flower Mound, with all those activities available! It certainly looks like there's never a shortage of things to do for families and their furry friends!

Carol Williams - These are golden opportunities for kids and their families. It has to be hard to go back to school. Compared to summer fun in Flower Mound, school has to be BORING!

Flower Mound is a Town that welcomes Dogs and accommodates for their needs.

Lew Corcoran - The Flower Mound Community is constantly bringing new ideas for residents to enjoy. And furry pets love it here too! I love to see well-taken care of dogs who are well behaved around strangers. When I lived in Maine, and ran daily, I was constantly being chased by dogs without a dog leash and collar. Holding back my fear was very trying. I learned when I showed fear, the dogs would get more aggressive.

The dogs I encounter here are always well-groomed, on a leash with a collar and owners carry doggie bags to pick up what doggies left behind.

Thanks so much for that, Patricia Feager . I’m glad the ideas landed even if you’re not swinging a hammer every day. Hope your week’s been treating you kindly and giving you a little breathing room.

What a night‑and‑day difference in experiences. Flower Mound really does set the tone for what a community can feel like when people take pride not just in their homes, but in how they show up with their pets. You can sense that shared respect — for neighbors, for public spaces, and for the dogs themselves.

And your Maine memories… that must have been exhausting. Running should feel freeing, not like a daily test of courage. Having unleashed dogs charge at you, not knowing how they’ll react, and having to swallow your fear just to stay safe — that’s a lot to carry. It makes the calm, well‑managed dogs you see now feel even more meaningful.

There’s something heartwarming about seeing pups who are groomed, leashed, and clearly loved, with owners who take responsibility seriously. It creates a community where everyone — two‑legged and four‑legged — can enjoy being out and about without stress.

Flower Mound sounds like a place where both people and pets can truly thrive.

Patriccai, the space center would hold a lot of interest for me as would some comfortable mornings along the water, but the heat would be a bit hard to handle.

Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 - I understand about the weather. I moved to TX on March 27, 1997. I couldn't believe how comfortable the weather was during spring and early summer. However, when the dog days of summer and hot Autumn temperatures rose, it began to sizzle. Winters were the shortest season - sometimes lasting no more than a week or two. It took me five years to adjust to change of climate. During those five years, I never wore a jacket, coat or dressed in layers. My old Chicago boots looked nothing like the stylish boots sold in TX. Once I fully adjusted, I learned to live and love the weather because everywhere I went AC was as precious as gold!

The environment we were conditioned to endure based on where we grew up or lived makes all the difference between what we and/or others consider hot, cold, unpredictable, or just right.

I wish you happy summer days, followed by Fall, Winter, and Spring.
