Motivational Monday…Add This To Your Daily To-Do List
Every so often, the universe showers us with acts of kindness…those we see, those given to us, and those we give to others.
For example, one of the morning walkers at Kickerillo is an older gentleman, JB. He walks slowly and often takes a break on one of the trail’s benches. Various walkers stop to check on him or walk with him. If he misses a day, someone texts him just to check in.

The best portion of a good man's life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.

A Welcomed Assist showed up, just when we needed it.
Larry insists on doing our trimming and mowing. He actually enjoys it.
Though his neurosurgeon said NO LADDERS, he had not given them up. He was trimming his favorite nemesis…the TALL bush by the corner of the house…and trying to maneuver the ladder to reach the branch we’ve named ALAFLFA.
The smallest act of kindness is worth more
than the greatest intention.

The gentleman doing our neighbor's lawn walked over and said, “Let me help with that! Just hold the ladder for me.” Five minutes later, the errant branch was gone. He returned to his truck, about to drive off to his next job. I couldn’t let him leave without some kind of thank you and a tip. He didn’t ask for it.

He didn’t even ask for our business. I had to ask for his number. He refused the tip at first, but I told him I needed to thank him because his act reinforced my faith in humans.
Small acts of kindness add up. They’re collected in our memory banks to be withdrawn when we need a warm and fuzzy feeling.
When we work out, we strengthen our muscles through repetition—building what we call muscle memory. The same principle applies to our hearts. The more we practice kindness, compassion, and generosity, the more natural they become. The more we exercise our kindness muscle, the stronger it gets.

This week, let’s keep our eyes open for opportunities to spread the kindness.
Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.
