Friday Fun…Would You Do This?

Kathy, Of course we know what the rich can do, but a setup like that really just shows how differently people choose to make their kids feel at home.

Honestly, I think that's nuts. A dorm room is supposed to be the first place a student can truly call their own and it should be decorated or not however the students in that room want it to be. I can say I would never have paid any money to get a decorator into a dorm room for any offspring of mine!

Good morning Kathy. Lived in a dorm for one year. It was a basic room and I never thought about decorating. As for the person who spent $20,000, a fool and their money are soon parted! Enjoy your day.

Good morning, Kathy. I could have decorated that room without charging $20K to do  it and it would look pretty much the same. My college dorm experience was pretty basic... we just made sure we had matching duvets.

Wow, no wonder kids never grow up, they are coddled by their parents for way too long, haha.

Short answer...NO.

This is your child's first shot at being on their own and making their own decisions. They can't even let them do that.

Too much! Crazy! When I joined the military my dorm room was laid out as they said it needed to be and I cleaned it every day and they inspected it with white gloves. God help you if those gloves got dirty. 

Kathy, sadly, I don't see that much of a change, and definitely not $20K difference.  NO.

My dorm rooms were very basic. In those ancient times at UVA, we did not even have air conditioning.

Kathy, that only says that some people have more money than common sense.

My kids will probably just ask for the $20,000 and do something else with it 😅

I heard about this going on. What can they think of next to make their kids fell comfy and coddled! I lived in a dorm for 2 years and then moved into the sorority house and we had matching comforters! I was far to busy to be in my room much! 

Hi Kathy Streib - I never lived in a Dorm because by the time I started college and universities, I had my own home and kids. But I have to say, $20K for someone to decorate a child's doom room is absurd! 

When my daughter went away to the University out of state, she packed a hammer, level, ruler, and other tools. Then she built her own bed, table tall enough for a chair to sit behind to type and do her work on a computer. She was a real problem solver and it didn't cost her or me $20K!!!

My Mom was one of those Mom's that loved to decorate so she helped us all to make our dorm rooms cozy!  Would I hire a decorator....no because I am one! 20K sounds ridiculous.
