Let me be CLEAR...what is the reason that people now are always saying "LET ME BE CLEAR" before they utter their next words? It did not used to be this way when I was growing up. A man's word or handshake meant something. Now it seems that people tend to say "LET ME BE CLEAR" because what they say next is going to totally confuse you 100% of the time, followed by caveats and "half-truths" leading you on a meandering path to total confusion. It really means, "WATCH OUT", because what the speaker says next is going to be bizarre. Am I making myself clear? Well, if not, read on...
In real estate we need to be clear when we talk and write, otherwise we can confuse people. Clear things can become blurry.

"Let me make myself clear", it seems like everyone says this today. Why? Do they assume you are not telling the truth in the first place? Or....are we just bumbling fools that mess up everything we say or write.
Well, people do make mistakes when they say things while speaking too fast or not taking a pause between words. I find that when people speak too fast, they are often just hiding the fact that they do not know what they are talking about and hope you will not ask any questions. The speaker hopes the listener will think they are an expert. The speaker will also use acronyms that are unknown to the listener and put emphasis on their syllables incorrectly, trying to impress the listener. Oh well...
Example, (speaking fast): "Let ME BE CLEAR! The astute buyer will scrutinize this listing on the MLS, observing the DOM and the ROI and utilize a 2 point buydown on the 7% Mortgage rate with a 3% DP to be paid at COE and then counter with a new price using a Reverse Mortgage". WHAT did the speaker just say? I have no idea! Say what you mean and mean what you say.
Sometimes these Let Me Be Clear speakers actually use writing instead of talking and they depend on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and autocorrect to write to people. We all thought auto correct on our text messages and emails and letters would help us stay out of trouble. Well.....apparently not...read on.
Yes, AI and AUTO CORRECT and Voice Dictation all seem like a great process in theory, but do you spend more time correcting the AI language used and auto correct and sometimes strange or even "embarrassing" words go out in your texts and emails? The "dictation typo" is a new American phenomenon. What was supposed to be CLEAR is now totally confusing.
For example, if you as a real estate agent were asked by a client moving to your city in Arizona, "Would you tell me where I can get great Buffalo Wings"? So, you, not knowing anything on the subject ask your trusted AI to write an article and show pictures of the great Buffalo wings in Arizona. You might get and AI result, something like this image and your client will think you are nuts!

How Does AI and Auto Correct Work?
Think of AI as this: There is a little elf in your computer or phone working VERY HARD to write your CLEAR messages but is in fact quite drunk. Sometimes the elf understands what you are asking, but other times, being inebriated, answers some totally unrelated questions which can get sent to your reader or you may even say it out loud if you write it down for a presentation.
