YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOU'RE GOING TO MEET
I had one of those wonderful real estate moments this week that had very little to do with real estate. I was showing several apartments at 11 Slade to a family helping Mom find her next home.

We had seen four or five places. We were hot. We were tired. And before calling it a day, we went back to one apartment we had already seen... it was our favorite choice, and we wanted to take one more look.
So, there we were, finally sitting down and talking. And somehow, she mentioned that years ago she went to school with someone named Rome. Well, you know I had to ask. “What was his first name?” She said, “Lee.”
After spending several hours together looking at real estate, this lovely woman tells me that she and Lee had attended the same lower school. She remembered him as such a nice, kind boy. I pulled out a picture of Lee and showed it to her. She looked at it and said,

“That's him. He sure matured nicely.”
You can imagine how that made me smile. Lee was the love of my life, the man I was married to for 16,802 days, and all these years later, in the middle of an ordinary day showing real estate, someone brings him back to me. And then there was another coincidence. A little while later, she mentioned that she had been a nurse. “Where?” Sinai.

My RN Graduation
She was a graduate RN from Sinai, just like me.
By then, I'm thinking, what are the chances of all of this? And yes, she seemed to like the apartment. She's spending the weekend with her family, thinking about whether she wants to make an offer. Maybe she will. Maybe she won't. But that's one of the things I love about real estate. You start the day thinking you're going out to show houses. And sometimes you come home with a story you never could have expected.
....
AND THEN
I was ready to post when the following photo and message were sent to me this evening.
