North Dakota is not known for egg frying heat on our sidewalks. We are more likely known for weather so cold that throwing water in the air on a 30 degree below zero day freezes before it hits the ground.
That being said I believe I heard on a local channel that this past July was the second hottest in Minot's history. I'm not sure if we officially hit a hundred degrees but we had a whole lot of 90's. That heat, coupled with a dry month, our lawns went dormant in a hurry. I also know that out electric bill doubled as we tried to stay cool.
How do you prepare for North Dakota weather?
Listen to the weather report for tomorrow... assume that there is a 25% chance it actually might happen.
