Weeds, Weeds, WEEDS!

Oh, I love living in the Sunshine State, the weather, the green landscaping year around, did I mention the weather?  One thing I don’t like as a homeowner, the weeds!  I swear I think if you stared at the ground long enough they would grow before your eyes!

We enjoy landscaping and planting flowers and plants, have a few waiting for us to plant.  Things do grow quickly here and next thing you know you have weeds in your landscaping beds.  Another problem is Saint Augustine grass which we have and it shoots out runners that enter your beds.  So I have armed for the battle!

I explain my arsenal I use to kill, control and keep our beds and pavers looking the best I can.  I am a little behind at the moment but will catch up soon!

Good morning Dick. Weeds are an issue in Florida and mulch can make them easier to deal with. As for that St. Augustine grass, those runners will always be a challenge. Enjoy your gardening.

lately, as I look at the yard, I think the weeds are winning as the rains have given them so much of an advantage.

That is so true, Dick Betts, especially with St. Augustine grass! Those runners are relentless at creeping right into the flower beds, and between the sunshine and the rain, it feels like a full-time job keeping them under control.

Dick Betts those pesky weeds have a way of continuously coming back, no matter what you do.  They have more lives than a cat.

Hi Dick- ugh, I'm not overly fond of weeds. A few years ago we placed cardboard over our flower beds (the dirt), then covered the cardboard with our mulch. That works really well and the cardboard is biodegradable.  It's a good use of our Amazon boxes!!! LOL
