Here’s a topic I’d love to see us tackle in an upcoming ActiveRain Zoom Round Table!
We are bombarded every day with information about the real estate industry. Interest rates. Housing prices. Inventory. Market forecasts. New regulations. Technology. AI. Industry changes. And, of course, those dramatic headlines designed to grab our attention!
But with so much information coming at us, I’ve been wondering:
What are YOU actually reading or listening to that you feel is worth your time?
Do you regularly read Inman News or Realty Times?
Do you listen to real estate podcasts?
Follow industry experts on social media?
Subscribe to newsletters or market reports?
Listen to webinars or YouTube channels?
Or have you decided there is simply too much noise and you tune most of it out?
And perhaps the bigger question:
How do you decide what information is actually valuable to your business and your clients?
I’ll admit it, I tune out a LOT of it.
Just like general news, I think the media can sensationalize almost everything. One day the market is “crashing,” the next day it’s “booming.” One headline says buyers are taking over, while another tells us sellers are back in control.
Some of it is useful. Some of it is interesting. And some of it is simply drama designed to get clicks.
I’d rather spend my time learning what will actually help me understand my market, better serve my clients, and help families successfully buy or sell their homes.
So I’d love to hear from the ActiveRain community:
What real estate news, publications, podcasts, websites, newsletters, or social media accounts do YOU consider worth your time?
And just as importantly…
What have you stopped paying attention to because it’s more noise than knowledge?
💬 Share your favorites, and your “skip it” list, in the comments!
Let’s crowdsource the best sources of real information, useful insight, and thoughtful perspective for today’s evolving real estate industry.
This could make for a really interesting, and useful, Round Table conversation!
This is my entry into the September Active Rain Challenge hosted by Debe Maxwell, CRS and Carol Williams.
