Last week I attended our State REALTORS® Conference. A fellow agent had this handy dandy device called Plaud. I watched him navigate this conference with ease as he placed his PLAUD devices in various sessions, so he was able to basically be in many places at once. I asked him about this device, and he said it has been a game-changer for him.
This post is my feeble attempt to share what I can about this device.
As we all know, the business of real estate is built around conversations—showings, listing appointments, inspections, negotiations, team meetings, and countless phone calls. The challenge is remembering everything said while still being fully present in the moment.
PLAUD is a game-changer as it is an AI-powered voice recorder that can capture conversations and turn them into organized transcripts, summaries, and actionable notes. For real estate professionals, this means less time trying to remember what happened and more time actually doing business. That sounds good to me!
Here are some quick ways to incorporate this device into your business life:
Listing Appointments - Instead of frantically taking notes while talking with a seller, you can focus on the conversation. PLAUD can help capture important details about the property, the seller’s goals, and follow-up items.
Client & Lead Calls - Important details can easily get lost after a busy day of calls. Having a record of the conversation makes it easier to follow up accurately and personalize your next interaction.
Team Meetings - Turn meetings into concise summaries with key decisions and action items, making it easier for everyone to know what needs to happen next.
Inspections & Walk-Throughs - When there are dozens of details to remember, an AI-generated summary can help organize your notes and keep important observations from slipping through the cracks.
Perhaps the best thing about a tool like PLAUD isn't simply that it takes notes. This device can allow you to listen more carefully and engage more naturally with your clients instead of constantly looking down at a notepad or trying to type everything into your phone.
Of course, always obtain the appropriate consent before recording conversations and follow applicable laws, brokerage policies, and MLS requirements.
Technology isn't replacing the relationship-driven side of real estate. It's helping agents spend less time documenting the relationship—and more time building it. And with one device, you are getting your information in one place where it can be organized, typed out, stored in organized files, etc.
I'm not sure I will invest in this, but I thought I would see if anyone in our AR world is utilizing this tool in their business.
