Happy National Read a Book Day To Everyone

Every year on September 6th, this year on Sunday September 6, 2026 we celebrate Happy National Read a Book Day.

There is no record indicating origin of the Happy National  Day started. However, reading improves memory and concentration as well as reduces stress. Books are educational tool, consume time, and not expensive.

We can celebrate the Happy National Read a Book Day, to visit a library or a local book store to get a new or read an old favorite book.

I want to wish to everyone at Active Rain community a Happy National Read a Book Day.

Happy Labor Day to all my friends on Facebook and to everyone.

Good morning, John Pusa - I hope to finish the book I'm reading by Timoth Egan, called the Big Burn. It's a very good historical nonfiction book about the largest-ever forest fire in U.S. history, the Great Fire of 1910, which burned about 3 million acres across Washington, Idaho, and Montana. I highly recommend it, especially to Carol Williams, Kat Palmiotti, Bob "RealMan" Timm, and Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho. It's the story about Teddy Roosevelt and his friends Pulski (fire fighter), and Pinchot's conservation efforts.

John Pusa and Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho - The Big Burn is a well-written account of history in three beautiful states and how passionate and important Teddy Roosevelt was to save the land and implement conservation ideas. The Author weaves together a true story of how drought, heat, and strong wind fused together small fires into a colossal blaze. Wallace, Idaho was nearly wiped out. 

I really enjoyed the book and the history that I did not know.

Happy National Read a Book Day to you as well, John! I too am an avid reader and cannot WAIT to finish the one I'm reading now! I finished a 600-page book for my bookclub recently (The Secret of Secrets by Dan Brown) and re-read it to prepare for our meeting at my home on the 15th. I'm super excited to discuss it!

I read a lot John Pusa but not books (except the Good book which I read a bunch every day). I read the local rag and of course I read a lot of posts right here in the Rain.
